Welcome to our Community.

We are here for you.

We are a church of retirees, young working families, and single adults. We include year-round and seasonal residents of Nantucket, along with regular island visitors who call our church home. Our people come from all over the United States— New England, mid-Atlantic states, South, Midwest, and far West. As a church, we are richly diverse in our backgrounds, stories, and perspectives on life. We welcome all who live on Nantucket or find their way here.

What we have in common as a church is an openness to explore faith in the God who loves us and to learn what it means to live by the teachings of Jesus. "Grace" is a big word for us at First Congregational Church. It is a biblical word that reminds us that life is a gift from God — and that the appropriate response to a gift is gratitude.

In that spirit of gratitude, we welcome you to come worship with us. You will be warmly welcomed!

Jesus said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind…and love your neighbor as yourself.”

Adults

Adult Learning at First Congregational Church is about growing in faith and changing lives through the study of Scripture, faith reflection, and discussion. Adult studies help us connect “head” and “heart” and equip us to live out our faith and calling in our daily lives. Come, discover what it is to love God with your heart and your mind.

During the seasons of Advent, Lent, and in summer season, there are special gatherings for fellowship, teaching, and discussion on a variety of topics.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Children

First Congregational Church in Nantucket, is a place where children feel at home.

Whether you come for a one-time visit, to participate in one of our special events, or for weekly Sunday School, your child will feel part of a family filled with God’s love. We encourage you and your children to join us during any of our events.

Music

Music plays an integral and spiritual role in our worship services and our congregational life.

Our Music Ministry led by Jeff Cutts presents special concerts year-round featuring a wide variety of musicians who live on Nantucket or visit the island to share their musical gifts.

Special concerts are traditionally held Memorial Day weekend, Rose Sunday in July, summer Sunday afternoons, and weekdays at noon during certain seasons of the year. FCC also hosts the Musical Arts Society's summer concert series in our Summer Church.
